TRIGGER WARNING. THIS IS GOTHIC POETRY; DARK THEMED POETRY THAT IS GENERALLY CONSIDERED MACABRE, FRIGHTENING, AND/OR DEPRESSING. DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE PRONE TO MENTAL ILLNESSES, ESPECIALLY ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION. YOUR LIFE IS MORE IMPORTANT TO ME THAN YOUR OPINION OF A REALLY OLD PIECE OF POETRY.

STILL HERE? ARE YOU SURE? OKAY….

Merciless Time

Child be still
Can you feel the chill
As everyone marches to a silent drill.
Child be still
Can you feel the chill
As the wind speaks of danger
from another’s will.
The silence surrounds us like the dead.
The blind leading the blind are misled instead.
For all that was done and never said.
Those reborn are killed again.
As darkness begins its deep descent
There is nothing left to circumvent
Mankind’s last tragic accident
One great creation so malevolent.
Are you listening can you hear our call.
Can you still save us though we fall.
Of the human race so proud and tall,
Nothing left but drawings on a wall
To prove that we were here at all.
Endless seas…restless winds…
Careless people…powerless men…
Lifeless corpses…listless minds…
Sightless souls…merciless Time.
