TRIGGER WARNING. THIS IS GOTHIC POETRY; DARK THEMED POETRY THAT IS GENERALLY CONSIDERED MACABRE, FRIGHTENING, AND/OR DEPRESSING. DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE PRONE TO MENTAL ILLNESSES, ESPECIALLY ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION. YOUR LIFE IS MORE IMPORTANT TO ME THAN YOUR OPINION OF A REALLY OLD PIECE OF POETRY.

STILL HERE? ARE YOU SURE? OKAY….

Whispers To Be Free

Whispers to be free
Are heard on the breeze.
As we stand side by side
Looking out on restless seas.
Smoking guns in our hands
We knew we had to take a stand.
As fools tore down the sacred walls
We could not let our freedom fall.
Now as we rest and reflect,
We think back to things we said.
Words long forgotten or misread
Became the words that they twisted.
Whispers to be free
Are heard by you and me.
And if the need arise,
For freedom we shall die.
